The Tutoring Center, a critical division of the O.A.S., provides individual and/or group tutoring in most subject areas, including the Development of Western Civilization. Our qualified peer tutors are PC undergraduates who have excelled in their disciplines and received faculty recommendations. The Center and its tutors are certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), which means that its operations, policies, and procedures meet international standards of excellence.
During each session, peer tutors assess individual student needs, develop strategies to address academic challenges, and help supplement classroom instruction. Tutors stress the learning process and place emphasis on the acquisition of permanent study skills. Our approach is designed to accommodate students at all skill levels; we can support those who are experiencing academic difficulties and also challenge those who are high achieving and striving to maintain a top grade.
The Tutorial Center is located on the second floor of the Phillips Memorial Library. Tutoring is by appointment only.
