Tutoring Sessions

The Tutoring Center offers a variety of supports to help students achieve their academic goals. Whether you are studying for a particular course or working to improve your overall study habits, our tutors are here to help!

Content Tutoring Sessions

The Tutoring Center offers individual and small group tutoring sessions by appointment in most subject areas in the business, humanities, social sciences, and S.T.E.M. disciplines. Content tutoring sessions are a great resource to help you build confidence in your coursework and meet your academic goals. You can meet with an experienced peer tutor to review course notes, study for quizzes and exams, check understanding of course concepts, and more!

Drop- in Tutoring Sessions

The Tutoring Center offers drop-in tutoring for select courses. Drop-in tutoring provides an opportunity to receive support from a peer tutor while you work independently or to receive assistance with quick questions. For more intensive, individualized support, content tutoring sessions are the best option and can be scheduled on our home page.

Strategist Sessions

The Tutoring Center also offers individual strategist sessions by appointment. Our learning strategies tutors, also known as “strategist tutors,” receive specialized training and share a interest in helping students find study techniques that work for them. Students can visit the scheduling page to search for an availability and select “Strategist Session” from the drop-down menu of courses. You can book a strategist session to work on any of the following areas:

  • Note-taking
  • Test- taking
  • Active/critical reading
  • Utilizing study tools ( flash cards, graphic organizers, etc.)
  • Time management ( planning, organizing, employing a study cycle, etc.)
